Mixed Media Embroidery by Priscilla Edwards

A superb talk from Priscilla at our last meeting, she explained "I create quirky textile sculptures and embroideries using found materials". Priscilla produces unique textile art which reflects her love of collecting ceramics, textiles and ephemera. Her creations explore identity, memory and nostalgia. Priscilla has been making mixed media pieces in 2D and 3D since completing her degree in Embroidery at Manchester Metropolitan University in 1997.

She will be returning to GTAG and giving a workshop to our members. The workshop introduces the artist to working with a combination of different materials and techniques that brings together mixed media processes. Wire, fabric, paper and wax will be used to create our 3D pieces.

Priscilla has produced a super book which is well worth a look "Sculptural Textile Art - a practical guide to mixed media wire ssculpture".
