July 6th - "Exploring and Developing Concepts" a talk from Sally Wilson

We were entertained and amused by an inspirational speaker today.

In her unprepossessing way, Sally Wilson told us the story of her early arts training, her years spent working in arts education, and how everything was almost taken away by a serious accident.

She recounted various stages of her recovery in such limited detail that one could only guess at the challenges she has had to face.

But it was after Sally's talk, when we got to look closely at her work, that we could really see what beautiful, detailed, diligent results her recovered talent has achieved.

Next Meeting: Wednesday July 6th, Talk with Sally Wilson, Raffle colour RAINBOW, Travel Pages to be exchanged

Our Stitch day on Wednesday June 15th was well attended with a diverse number of projects on the go. Above shows a finished sample of the hessian bags we were given at the last meeting and another finished "Travelling Page". The most bizarre stitching was creating a soft fruit cover from off cuts of ballroom dance dress netting rolls!

There will be a Stitch Morning on Wednesday July 6th, followed by a talk from Sally Wilson "Exploring and Developing Concepts". Take a look at her website sallywilson.co.uk, inspirational!

Wednesday, July 20th, we have a workshop with Richard Box "Adventures in Painting and Stitch" - the finished piece will incorporate daisies not poppies.
